    No Lift Tool Pathing?

Looking for any advice regarding the following issue and thank you in advance. So I'm making signs pocketed out of .140 Melamine (at a depth of about .040) but I have a bit of a problem with the depths on a single bit. For a nice smooth finish I've been running a 1/16" Endmill across the entire sign face after hatching down most of it with significantly larger bits. The problem I have is that parts of the sign will be different depths, even though It's all the same tool path with the same tool. I know that Enroute 5 (which Im running) has no-lift tool pathing but it's only for routing offsets and mainly used in plasma cutting applications to reduce the number of on/off cycles and reduce wear. I'm wondering if anyone knows any other methods to no-lift pathing in Enroute? Obviously it will need to lift to go into the center of an "A" or an "R", etc... but if the rest of the face could be run without lift I think the signs would come out more significantly more even. The 1/16" bit at the end is only removing .005 or so of material.

    I am running Enroute 5

    Thanks

Jerry, you could try turning your shapes into 3d reliefs and merging them together so Enroute sees the whole thing as one object.
