I was doing some super-basic MDI machining yesterday and noticed that when you are in the MDI window typing you can only enter one line at a time unless you remove all spaces
So I was milling an angle across the end of a piece of 8020 and typed
G0 x-.75 y-.75
Turned the spindle on
G1 x0 y0
Then while it was feeding I typed in the next line
G1 y.5
And the machine stopped part way through the G1 X0 Y0 cut
Took a little to realize that hitting the spacebar while typing the second line (G1 y.5) it of course paused the feed
I frequently do some stuff like this (g1 z-.5 and then right away enter the retract g1 z.2) so I'll have to learn to forget about spaces.
I guess the spacebar as a feed hold all the time is probably a good thing but so was the ability to type in several lines of MDI
It's like the move arrows still moving an axis instead of scrolling while you're in the program window
Anyway, just an observation, (ok maybe a tiny gripe)
