Hi, I have a new machine almost ready to wire up. I have a 4 axis controller from delagrange technology and am aprehensive about getting it running. I have 140 oz/in motors w/6-wires (unipolar). On the motors they are marked 3.25A and I understand how to use ohms law to find the voltage, but do I measure the resistance from the center tap to one end of the coil or measure the whole coil to figure out what size resistors to use between the motor and the board? Is the marked amperage the whole motor so I would add the resistance of both coils?

With a 6-wire motor, the current rating would most likely be for unipolar connection and for a single phase, so measure from center tap to one end to get the resistance.
