    xtra motor brushes

    Hello
i have a few of these motors
    - pm field, dc servo, by torque system inc.
    - ther are 2 sets of brush terminals.
    - how are these brushes incorporated into this motor.
    - i don't really want to take it apart as it has a shaft encoder
which will have to be removed.
    - a schematic would be good
and : what do u think the maximum rpm's i could get out of a motor like this?

thank you all in advance for your help ( i hope)

If you unscrew the red and black caps the brushes are usually spring loaded under the cap. The pair to the rear of the motor will be the Tachometer.
You dont need to remove the encoder.
Max. rpm would be around 4000rpm
If you have the voltage rating, try and determine the revs/volt and it will be a linear calculation for max.

    thanks al_ _ _
sure enough....... a nice steady voltage from the rear terminals ...
    8vdc in ... 8vdc out etc etc
    i wounder if this would be 10v / 1000 rpm's
    don't have a tach
i can't seem to find any data on the net pretaining to these motors, but i will continue to investigate.
    thanks again for your assistance
    greatly appreciated !!!
