    What you've been needing: photo-modeling

Some of you may find this intriguing: inferring a 3D model from a series of 2D photographs.

Swede's recent post inquiring what everyone is building with their machines reminded me of my earlier mystery of where people were getting all their models. I concluded that most people are making their own models, and then began looking into the ways I'd have to make mine.

I first looked into 'touch-off' scanning probes, but stumbled onto photogrammetry. The second link ought to be no step for people who've wired up steppers.

    Very good post.

I think I will try the more time than sense option.

I have heard about this before but never have actually looked into it.

    Thanks

Thats my problem I have a machine that can cut lots but getting models is the hard part.
Thanks for the links. Only wish I had a laser scanner.
