    V2XT DX32 y Overflow

My machine was Boss 10 and I upgraded to all the hardware and software changes EMI offers.
The machine has been flawless for few years.
Running a job today, I was on the last part, y axis in middle of table and I got a +Y Overflow.
    Machine check ok
    Drives enable
Z will home and then machine shuts down with Y overflow.
    I have no clue.

    Needs some direction.
    Thanks
    Rob

    Re: V2XT DX32 y Overflow

A Y overflow is that the control sent a command and expected to see a move and did not see a move.
If it indeed did move and it was not seen, it would indicate a bad position loop (encoder, cable, board, etc.).
If it did not move, could be mechanical (bearings, gib, ballscrew), motor or drive board (but I would expect a axis drive fault), or no command from control to axis drive board.
(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)
