You might consider VisualMill, if you just need CAM software. It has an AXYZ postprocessor already. If you need CAD and CAM, the Rhino/RhinoCAM package is pretty hard to beat.

You can download demo's of ArtCAM Express & Insignia from the ArtCAM website, from which you can post-process the demo files on your machine.

I agree that the Rhino package is a good one as the model and the toolpaths are contained in one file with no risk of translation error.Is the AXYZ machine of an age that relies on Toolpath?Now that is a quirky piece of software-eight character file length maximum-and other curiosities.
