    Tri-Power or Patriot

Ok I wanted to get some advice from the horses mouth. I contacted the company the other day and were very helpful. I am looking for a machine that has CNC capabilities to mill some flanges. Nothing too hardcore, but i would like to use it for other stuff as well in the future(Gunsmithing).

The company recommended me either the tripower with ballscrews/dro/cnc or the patriot with the same package. The patriot although slightly more expensive seems to be newer and more liked.

If anyone has any suggestions, please post or toss me a PM.

Here is what I will be machining as a project out of aluminum

    Thanks Everyone!!!

When you buy a machine you also have to purchase tooling and that is more expensive than the machine. So take that into consideration.Your looking at 6000 to 7000 dollars just to get started. The machine and the tooling.

Thats true- the old rule of thumb is that over the lifetime of a machine you will purchase double the price in tools. Of course that's a rule of thumb for a commercial shop. Looking at your part, it could probably be made with the tools that come standard, but as you expand and try different things, there will always be more things to buy.

Yeah I know the tooling will be an arm and a leg, and i don't mind spending a decent chunk of money. I am just trying to decide between the Tri-Power or the Patriot?

Just trying to see what everyones opinion was on each machine
