    TC-22 Encoder

Does anyone know the original part number and specs for a z-axis encoder that fits the Parvex motor on a TC-22? Or does anyone know where I can get an equivelent replacement?

    Torq-Cut 22 Z-Axis Encoder

I just wanted to re-ask the following questions. Does anyone know the original part number and specs for a z-axis encoder that fits the Parvex motor on a Torq-Cut-22? Or does anyone know where I can get an equivalent replacement?

Not familiar with the TorqCut but I have some Parvex motors that are BLDC with a specialized commutation method, but if these are BLDC then if you know the pole count and encoder resolution, there are encoders with commutation tracks available.

It is a BLDC motor. I'm just looking at my options for now. That motor is on my z-axis and when that z-axis moves in the positive direction and as soon as it stops I get a POS-ERR. It's only when it stops after moving in the positive direction. Does fine when traversing in the negative direction. And it is doing it with the drive belts removed so there is no load on the motor. I figure it is either a bad cable or encoder. Always something.

If it only occurs when stopping the +ve direction I wouldn't think it is in the encoder, I would have expected to occur in both directions or in motion?
Some of the older motors had a form of resolver for commutation.
Did you try it with the motor off the machine and positioned horizontally, just for the hell of it?
