    Solidworks to Mastercam (greenhorn)

I need to save a 2d part file and bring it into MastercamX. All I really need is the 2D info once in mastercam. Whats the best file type option for this?

It seems if I make a drawing in Solidworks and then don't make it a solid I get an error if I try to bring the solidworks file into Mastercam.

I know that I'm doing something fundamentally wrong here but if you guys could steer me in the right direction that would be grand.

create a new drawing(.slddrw). this will give you a 2d drawing. get rid of anything you don't want to cut and save it as a dxf. make sure your scale is 1:1.

MasterCams web site has a support section that has an update to import SW files.
