    slow input response

I have an axiom p3 850 touch screen pc running XP
with a galil 1842 motion card , copley drives and mcg motors.
originally I had an opto22 card and rack installed for running my hand pendant
then I made a usb pendant. both ways are slow to react to a push of a button usually having to try multiple times to register in the control.
I am wondering if this could be a hardware issue or just a poorly written cbk file ?(I'm sure it needs some tuning)
If anyone has some ideas I would appreciate the help.

There's a diagnostic screen that shows the state of all your inputs. Its a very helpful screen if you have labeled all you inputs (CNCSETUP, IOsettings, IOdescriptions) The IO should change state within miliseconds of an input push. If the computer's not seeing it, you have a hardware issue. Conversely, if you see the input change state and the machine didn't do your bidding I'd look to a software issue.

There's one hesitation I know of - JOG. There's a 1/4 second delay between pushing a jog button and start of machine motion. I've seen it with keyboard jog, jog stick on a large lathe, and jog buttons on a mill. Trying to rewrite the code from Camsoft to native Galil made no change. I'd forgot about it, its just the way the control works.
