Running My 230-volt Induction Motor in Canada

I am shipping various power woodworking tools to Calgary, including a European table saw and various hand power tools. The table saw is a 12" floor model with a single-phase 3 kW induction motor, 230-volt 50-hZ, drawing about 11.6 amps. At start up, it draws about 38 amps. It does not have an auxiliary scoring motor.

The hand tools have universal motors, 240-volt and are high-quality German brands.

What do I need in my workshop to safely run these tools? I assume I can run them on 220-volt circuits, but will I need specially protected dedicated circuits? And is the 60 hZ frequency a problem?

Al the Man is the proper source for the information you seek.

I think you are fine; the hand tools with universal motors (commutator type) will run okay, the induction motors will run faster due to the higher frequency but I think going up in frequency reduces the peak current draw so they may lose a tiny bit in torque.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

As Geof says, you should be OK without any extra circuitry etc.
I have run European rated equipment without any perceptible sign of difference, you will get extra rpm, in the case of the saw this will offset any drop in current.
If it is a Capacitor start motor, it should be OK, if capacitor start & cap run, you MIGHT have to decrease the run Cap. slightly, most likely not.
