Hi,
Is is possible to transfer a polysurface or mesh from RHINO to MASTERCAM and still have it create the toolpaths? I am having problems transfering my file into Mastercam.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sure you can. I have done it many times.
I convert the mesh to a polysurface model. You will now have a triangled patch work of surfaces for the model. Next Explode the surfaces into individual ones.
Thats it. Your done. Iges it out and read it in.
Also, you can try to export the mesh as an STL, I think MC can read that in. Or, Look on the Rhino web site. They now have a plugin for the conversion from Rhino to MC.
Good Luck

Hi,
How do you convert a mesh back into a polysurface?
Thanks
It is a typed command;
MeshToNurb
This will give you a HUGE surface skin, in a triangular pattern (from the mesh) then Explode them and you are all set.

What version of Mastercam?
I can bring *.3DM file right in to MC.If you are running 9.1 SP2 go file convert next menu,next menu again just before Catia translaters there will be Rhino.
or as stated output a *.igs file. I have cut alot of files from Rhino.
