    Fanuc 11t questions - stuck - Operator Message 05555 N000000

Hello there, I am working on a used Nakamura 3b Slant lathe. The controller is a Fanuc 11t. Equipped with a tape reader.

I`ve looked almost everywhere and spoken to several people

The procedure for using EDIT or MDI is pretty strait forward. Although its not working for me.
    1) Switch to EDIT mode
    2) Type oxxxx program (o1001) and INPUT or DOWN arrow

but when I try this and other combinations, nothing happens. And it wont accept any code I`ve tried in MDI mode.

I`ve zeroed, jogged and all the manual switches work.
    The only options available on the screen are;

    EDIT *** STOP **** *** *** *** LSK ***
    ALARM , OPERATR , MAP_LOG

    Attachment 318762

I hope its not a locked feature or something like that. I cant get into SETTINGS either as suggested by the manual. There is an NC PC option.

The next thing I`ll try when I go back to the machine is changing the tape switch on the back from MANUAL to AUTO or vice versa.

Hopefully someone has a simple answer to my predicament.

No I've tried the key, chuck closed zero'ed the machine, tried emergency stop. Tried all arrow keys. Everything seems to be working manually.

But I cant get out of the Alarm screen. Which is usually done by pressing the back arrow key.

I called Fanuc and he suggested sending in a technician. But its not really an option at this point.

My next guess is to re-load all the parameters. I have them on a tape reel.

After that, my guess is the memory is pooched.

So I've found some forum posts regarding being stuck in different Fanuc menu's. While still being able to switch inputs. It seems to be related to the I/O board. I might have to replace it.

You cannot do any operation with programs as long as there are alarms.

    The problem has been resolved!

The soft key buttons were faulty. Mainly the one on the far left being the 'back' button. With no highlighted message above the button like the rest of them, it was hard for me to know with no documentation there was even an option there.

I removed them and broke open the plastic cases. Cleaned the contacts, tried it again, and everything lit up in front of my eyes!

Really appreciate everyone that helped me out with diagnosing the issue. Memoryman is a stand up guy, really knows his stuff!
