Z axis Zero return not triggered during operation.

My machine returns to z-axis zero just fine during the initial zero return process, but when I home during auto or MDI even though the ATC switch reads green it never triggers the z return position. I can't run the ATC without it. Any ideas? Is there a parameter I need to change?

    Sorry, Fanuc 0M-B.

I don't have an error when I home, only when I attempt an M06, which brings back the 2025 Z-Axis is not in Zero Return Position error.

I'm not understanding the exact trouble you're having, but it sounds like from what you are saying that you either have a problem in your O9001 program (this is called by M06) or parameter 0737, which sets the return height. If the tool change program doesn't have a G30 Z0 in it that would cause it to not return to ATC height when M06 is called. If the parameter was wrong it would return to the wrong height. Hope this helps

G30 Z0 is present in the program.

The problem is that the Z-Axis zero return is only triggered in zero return mode. Manually jogging it or moving it via program to z0 doesn't engage the light or apparently the switch.

it seems to me that your problem is more with the tool change thant with the zero return. Is your Z tool change is the same than the Z home? Also, you should have a switch activated at Z tool change height, not the same than the home switch whch in fact is deactivated at home position. If the z tool change switch is not activated (bad switch, bad wire, desajusted switch activator, or wrong parameter) you cannot perform tool change.
