    Shift + Coolant?

    Hey guys,

I was reading through the MIll manual and noticed that pressing shift+coolant on the control will turn the auto air gun on and off. I do not have an auto air gun, however I do have thru-spindle coolant and thru-spindle air. Does anyone know if there is a way to change shift+coolant so it starts one of those two options instead? That would be nice.

Also the manual says to turn on TSC before the spindle speed command. What is the reason for this?

    Thanks!

An interesting idea, I wonder the same thing myself. You could probably wire it up if you identified the output relay responsible for the air gun.

The TSC system uses a rotary union that must be stationary to provide the initial sealing action, only afterwards can it start spinning. It's actually written into the M88 code as a failsafe, so the spindle will come to a stop when you execute an M88 command regardless of whether you want it to stop or not.
