So my partner and I picked up a Journeyman 330 yesterday with the dynapath Delta20 Controller and Fanuc Spindle drive.

It is missing the y axis gear reduction and servo motor.

So far everything else seems to work and we where able to reference the machine and get the spindle started.

I have searched google and just can not seem to find very much info on the 330's If anyone has any pics of what the gear reduction looks like on the y axis that would be awesome,trying to figure out what all is missing and track down the parts.

Hi- Nice find! I have a J320 and it looks real similar to your 330. A LOTof the parts look identical. I'll get some pics of the Y drive sprocket setup, and other parts and send the link to you. Hopfully this will at least help a little bit.

It's really just a housing, and two pulleys with a cogged belt (just like the X). Here is a link to the gallery :

I'll dig up pics of just the housing assy.

The opposite end of the Y screw has a shaft that was used to mount an encoder, if the servo motors were upgraded, they probably used motors with encoders mounted on the motors.

You can use the same size pulleys as the X drive, I think the ratio is the same for both.

Thank you so much. i opened up the x axis looks like all i need is a motor asome pulleys and a belt to get this working. My servo looks like a baldor but thats all i can tell the tag is all worn out. I think i found a motor on ebay but not sure yet.

This is the standard servomotor that Autocon included in the Delta MCP upgrade package. It is the same motor for all three axis. These are the ones on my J320. I have seen a few of them on ebay for pretty reasonable prices lately.

Just make sure you get one marked special. Those had different encoder pin outs if I remember correctly.

Do the rpms of the replacement motor need to match or can we find one with same encoder and tach?

Also I did not see special marked any where.

The encoder needs to be 1000ppr and the tach needs to be 7v/1k rpm. Are you using the ServoDynamics 1500 series servo amps? Those are what most of the MCP packages used to replace the original Gould pwm amps.
You could use other resolution encoders, but would have to do a lot of calculating, and have to enter the parameter programming in the Delta20. The SD servo amps are designed for use with a 7v /1k rpm tach signal.
If you do not find a motor specifically stating "special" in the model name, but the rest of the specs are good, and it has the same 16 pin connector, you would be able to use it.It might require a little re-wiring of the connector, but nothing too bad. I can send you the Dynapath wiring diagrams if you need them.

So so long as tach and encoder match the motor rpm is not hugely important.

Correct. I think any MTE-4090 will have all the correct specs, just as long as the encoder, the tach voltage, and the connector is correct.
Also, if you look on the Dynapath chassis/card cage, there should be a foil sticker with "Autocon" across the top that should show the model (prob. something like 'Delta 20 MCP") and a serial #. That will help determine the correct set of prints. If you do have the SD servo amps, I have a manual I can copy and send you too, with diagrams, and adj./tuning info.

Been working on clean up and fixing the rough ball screw on y axis

Found the bearing block(nut) was a little galled up and all the lil balls fell out on removal.
