I have this part Im making in mastercam x6. all the main pockets I have already made and left .01" on the walls and floors to come back and change tools for a finish pass.

how do I pocket JUST the highlighted portion in the picture? If I do a regular pocket it will obviously do the whole area which will waste time, I tried dynamic area mill and its much better but it still mills more then just the highlighted pocket.

any help would be great. thanks

Just do a contour. If the tool is too small to take the cut in one pass, take multiple passes.

Use the method I mention in this post... Multiple machining regions --> avoidance region.

sorry I was meaning to use the selection process to tell the tool where to avoid cutting (the air), stick with the area tool path
