    just ran a batch of parts on a 15 year old macturn.
    even with the bt40 taper holders swapping between an 80° rougher and 35° finisher, the shaft diameter didn't move more than .0005" from cool morning to hot afternoon.
    machine came standard with a scale on x axis.
