    there are many sellers. one specifically seems trustworthy. they have sold many. (I think to some people here)

    it says bt30 in the description, no mention of r8. no actual spindle in the pictures.

    I also have spent some time looking for an R8 spindle in this configuration.
    The Syil machines have a very similar system, but they too are hard to find at a reasonable price?

    the syil spindle are integrated into the head by the look of things. not a cartridge. they are based on the sieg x3.

    they seem to have adopted bt30 on newer higher end machines.

    Yes they do look that way, but in desperation I found a second hand machine to get my project started, it had done less the 10 hour work, too small but a start.
    Unfortunately I had to replace the spindle bearings, ball screw bearings, regrind the ways… so I have had it apart and the spindle is a 80 or 90mm (I think off memory) cartridge type uses a tapper pin to lock it in, 2 minutes and it is apart again to check.
    Yes I think all the new bigger machines have gone to the BT30, which is not so good if you have a truck load of R8 tooling.

    I am building a larger machine and don’t want to butcher the small one I have, so if you find a supply please let ma know

    I need one exactly like the one in this thread. most of the other ones around (like tormach) wont fit.

    Heap of trash? Ouch. At least you could actually pay money for this machine, shake the man's hand, and then have a machine that you payed for.

    Hate to break it to ya... But you can't buy that machine either. He did sell a few. That machine isnt anywhere close to the price of anything skyfire was offering either so its doubly irrelevant.

    I agree, it WAS sold, there are plenty of happy customers using them and you can contact him today to buy a newer machine. Definitely cost more but they are high quality and real unlike a skyfire. at least skyfire got farther than 5% on a kickstarter, ouch!

    my comment was meant to be funny. did it from my tablet and the smiley didnt work. bah.

    point was, this machine has been mentioend in this thread many times, and has a little to do with anything now as it did then. its like going into a tormach thread and telling them a haas vf2 is a better choice.
