Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end

Sigh........if I were in a production mode I might have considered going down that path, but I opted for a hobby machine with a few bells and whistles to keep me happy.

You wouldn't want to invest in the UMC-10 just to hack a few bits of metal to make odds and ends occasionally.

Meanwhile back at the ranch I'm putting together a 3025 bridgemill made from steel tubing, so I may yet have a CNC machine before Skyfire comes to the party.

Post some pics. Show your progress. It's always cool to see a machine coming together.

Its been quite some time since I last looked at this thread.

Am I right to assume there is still no sicne of Defeng or the Skyfire machines we all purchased?

    Hello,
I have just received an email today from Defeng Reng replying my email asked me if I am still interested in ER32 spindle. What do you think of this email? He got back on his business seriously. Let me know if one of you received your order. Actually I am still interested on that spindle, but your experience that got no order received is bad thing.

I also have just received a relevant email about an early SVM-0 mill order. Hope all the pent up energy about delayed orders don't goofup shipping. I'm really glad to hear Defeng.s health is returned and that he is back in circulatipn.

Well I hoped for the best too, and lo and behold I received my email from Defeng as well. Of course the real relief will come when I sign the waybill and receive my machine! Good to hear troubles are hopefully behind him...

It seems the temperature in Hell is dropping a bit. Surprised and happy to see new signs of life, even though I got my spindle controller (1 year late, and I have yet to install it), I honestly thought the machines would never materialize. I hope to see a happy ending to this, it will be a godsend for all us Mikini owners out there (what are there, 10 of us?!) as Mikini folded a while back...

Re: Show how to build a CNC machine from the very beginning to the end

I should note that I'd have been worried if all I got to see were stock photos. But indeed there were custom parts or items I ordered with my machine, that were in the pics that obviously were not part of stock list, so I knew my machine existed (and was close to complete since I will be installing my own electronics). I guess it was more a matter to me of when. As I had access to a CNC Bridgeport clone I didn't mind the wait as much...

Some of those toolpaths in the videos are incredibly inefficient.

I hope everyone gets their machines.

Not defending the toolpaths, but it is a demo... Actually looks like Vectric Cut2D toolpaths with some of the "recut" paths. I feel I should send Defeng some g code so he can really showcase these machines...

Hi, I hope the revival of the program means we'll be getting some action on the bought items soon......over a year is a lifetime in the CNC world.

    The demos look good.

Anyone else notice the Last Supper engraving on the website? Not sure what that is all about. Maybe some subliminal forgiveness message for those who would like to choke the man about right now. HaHa
