    NC Parameters Fanuc 10M

I have a Mori-Seiki MV-45 mill with a Fanuc 10M controller and communicate via RS-232. I would like to copy all the machine parameters to the PC for backup purposes and don't really know how to accomplish the task. Any help would be much appreciated - Thanks.

OK - Thanks for the help. Using the same software (EditCNC) I use to transfer programs back and forth, I was able to receive some data by following the sequence outlined (SERVICE - PARAM - PUNCH - ALL). Here is a sample of what it looks like. There must be a couple of hundred lines with nothing but "P0" plus a bunch of other "stuff" that does not look like what I would have expected. Anyway, I guess my question at this point is; does data in this format look correct? I need to replace the backup batteries and want to feel comfortable that I've accurately copied all the parameters in case of the freak power failure while the batteries are out. Thanks again!

make sure you write down the parameters in the 9000 range, they may not be saved with the download.

You also should save the keep relays, timers(counters?) and ball screw compensation parameters(if any data is set).

    Hello

    Hi

Remember to write down keep relay, timer and counter.

Thanks Fellows - I'll be sure to manually record the "9000" parameters, keep relays, timers etc.. By the way, does the data in the sample look like what you've seen before? Still not sure about all the lines of "P0", and I'm wondering if the data would look the same if a different software was used to transfer the parameters to a .txt file.

Some thing does not look right to me.
Usually the parameter line is preceded by a Pxxx Nxxx etc.

Al is right. I just looked up a few backups I have and they all started with Nxxx. That indicated which parameter #, and the P was the the setting of the 8 bit string, and Ax was each of the available axis in the controller. I would check the output of parameters again. As you are saving parameters it is always a good idea to save any macro programs as well.
The 0's for values are ok. They are parameters that are not set

I think I've got it now. I punched the parameters once again and the resulting .txt file does have "N" prefixes for all the lines. Like an idiot, I "stripped" the line numbers the first time around as I thought the software I used to transfer added them as if you were numbering or re-numbering a CNC program. Now I can look at the backup file and it makes sense and I feel better about it. I also recorded the "9000" parameters, data for the timers / counters and keep relays. You guys have been a big help and I really appreciate it!

Without them, the machine is just a big chunk of iron.

Take a close look at the syntax of your code. Post the call line and the Macro exactly as its written in your control here so that perhaps further advice can be given.

Besides making a copy of everything else mentioned, copy the tool changer programs. On my victor v center 4 with a fanuc 10m they are programs -O9001-3. Can't tell you right now what the parameter number is to make o9000-o9999 programs visible or editable.
If you loose them, your tool changer won't work or worse.

The parameter setting to access programs O9000 - O9999 is 2201.0 set to zero.
