I am working in V25. I have created a solid and am wondering if I can somehow use the wire frame for geometry. I want to use it to control tool path. Possible?

It's very common to extract the wire frame to a new layer then copy that to yet another layer and then delete the unwanted parts and fettle the required bits to base a tool path upon.
Zip up and post a file and ask specific questions for the best possible relevant answers,

Exactly, what magicniner said. I do it all the time assuming the job is worth me drawing a solid. In V25 hide (lower left) the solid layer('s) and go.

If you watch Al's excellent After Dark videos on YouTube many of them show how he extracts and modifies geometry from a solid model in order to allow the CAM system to do what he wants, how he wants.
Seriously, watch ALL of Al's video tutorials, it's like reading a text book or reference manual, what seems irrelevant now may be needed in the future and if you've like me when the issue arises you won't remember the solution, but you'll remember that you've seen it and where to look to find it,
