SABRE 500 mill – spindle orientation problem.

Has bought used CINCINNATI SABRE 500 mill 1997 with ACRAMATIC 2100 controller. The machine has bin without power for a while, and has lost the spindle orientation and spindle speed control.

How to fix the problem / change the parameters?

    Best regards
    Jeppe

repaired power supply (PSR 4/5) should not effect orient position.

repaired drive (VFS5) can cause this if your rpr folks lost data inside.

easiest fix if a belt is involved: remove belt, change position, put belt back on?

If not then you need Motionlink Plus software, special null modem cable, learn how to change parameter P1....

As Kilroy indicated, your Power Supply has nothing to do with the parameters stored in the spindle drive (which is where the ATC orientation is stored on the VFS5 drives).

But before you chase the wrong problem, what orientation are you saying is off? There are two. One is used for orientation of the spindle for a tool change, and the other is used for orienting the spindle for an M19 command.

If you are saying it is not orienting properly during the machine align procedure, it means something different than if it is not aligning for a tool change (which is what Kilroy was indicating).

Also not sure what you mean by lost the spindle speed control. These drives use a +/- 10V signal to control the speed. If your machine is aligning the spindle properly, just to the wrong location, it would indicate this signal is getting from the control to the drive.
