    rusty geometry

I have a print that shows a lengthwise 3/8 endmill cut .1125 deep on the side of a piece of 1 by 1 stock. The trouble is that the starting point of the cut is referenced to where the cutter contacts the surface (.715 inches). How do I determine the position of the center of the endmill? Basically I know the diameter (.375) of the endmill and the distance from the circumference to the chord but what I need is 1/2 the length of the chord.

    Thanks
    Brian
