Problem: Shaky / stepped arcs & circles mach3 plasma

I'm having an issue where I am trying to cutting large (15") ellipse and the arc portions are giving the machine trouble.

The machine is jerking around the corner and it is very noticeable on the final piece.

Is there a setting in mach3 to smooth this or do I have something set wrong in one of the configure pages?

    specs on my machine:

    4x8 plasma
    NEMA23 620oz Stepper Motors
    1000 ipm Rapid Travel
    mach3
    ESS
    sheetcam
    hypertherm 65

    Material
    14ga aluminum
    300ipm
    45 A
    136V
    THC

The drawing was made in inkscape and the ellipse has 4 nodes
Not sure on what I have set wrong here

any help on certain mach3 config setting to look at would be great

I'm going to guess it's not mach3, but more likely a setting in sheetcam. You probably need to adjust the faceting or resolution of the arc as it converts it into line segments.

Here is are the .tap and .job files, I don't know what portion of g code you want to see, but there is 600+ lines so I didn't think I should paste it in here either.
    Attached as .zip

    Thank you

The Oval outside shape looks like a bunch of straight line segments in Sheetcam.
Check your drawing import options in Sheetcam. Maybe increase the arc fitting tolerance.

Mike one question, how did you determine the oval looked like a bunch of small line segments?, did you zoom really closely into the part in sheetcam ? or is there another way?

You said the ellipse only had 4 nodes, when you looked at in Sheetcam it had many more the 4. I zoomed in in Sheetcam and they looked like straight lines.

The segmentation happens in the DXF export. Transfer to SheetCAM directly via SVG and the arcs will be intact like in Inkscape. Also make sure CV is turned on in MACH and that CV feedrate is OFF.
