    oz-calculation help needed

At the bottom of the second table at http://www.cnsoyo.com/cp_1_8_e.asp they state that SY57STH76-2804MA has 18.9 kg-cm torque.
Would that be ~1700 oz/inch or have i messed up as usual ?

    I was following this formula:
    120g/cm into oz/in?

    1 gram = 0.0352739619 ounce
    1 centimeter = 0.393700787 inch

Now using algebra we find that:
    1 gram/centimeter = (0.0352739619/0.393700787) ounce/inch
    1 gram/centimeter = 0.0895958634 ounce/inch

    120 * 0.0895958634 = 10.751503608 ounce/inch

Torque is the multiplication of a force * a distance (lever arm). You are dividing. I am sure somewhere along the way, you saw someone write torque as ft/lb or lb/in, but that was in error. If the kg * cm unit is kg force, then a kg*cm is 2.205 lb*cm because 1kg = 2.205 lbs. Further, 1 cm =.3937 inches. So, 1 kg*cm = 2.205 lb *.3937 inches = .8681 inch lbs. So, 18.9 kg*cm = 16.41 inch lbs. To convert to ounces, 16 ounces = 1 lb, so 16.41 inch lbs = 262.6 inch ounces. Good thing you asked, eh?

    1 kg-cm = 13.887 Oz-in. 262ozin is correct.
