You are going to have fun.

The HS1 is a great desktop cnc router, I bought mine a little over 2 years ago and the only problems I have had are the ones caused by the guy at the keyboard.

Tips, put a dust shoe on it of some type, and the DIY auto Z tool you can find posts on the zone about is a time saver. If you are using Ron's Mach3 screen set you already have the scripts for it installed.

As a newby, you have exceeded my understanding ;-P

I am assuming that the auto Z tool helps in setting the Z height or zero? Also that you install it as a script into the BobCAD toolpath or the generated code?

Thanks for you advice and support (in advance).

Correct on the use of the auto Z tool.

The auto z height tool is a script that runs within Mach3. If you are running Mach3 download the Mach3 screen set on Ron's site. Once you run Mach3 using his screen set the script is already available and he also put two buttons on the Main Mach3 screen for auto z and also x,y.

I have not made a tool that I am happy with as a x,y tool, my Z tool is only a piece of scrap aluminum I had laying around. Come in handy when you have to change bits in a job for any reason.
