    needing a little help?

hey everyone, so iv been laser cutting for a while using sketch up to create the files, but recently iv been trying to make products more eco friendly and using less material.

Is there any program anyone knows of to fit in as many parts as possible onto a rectangle? as i cant fit in all the parts all the time and it can take a long time to make everything fit, especially if i have limited space and materials.

If my question doesn't make too much sense i shall add a picture for reference.Attachment 249618Attachment 249618

What you are looking for is called "nesting" software.....

You can look at some free/paid versions online... Some CAM products have versions of nesting...

    Hi,

yes - "nesting software" is the right term to search for.
However: any software that is actually able to save significant amounts of material will also be horribly expensive. Several thousand Dollars are nothing unusual - alternatively there are also offers where you pay for each job instead of the program itself.

If anyone knows a "cheap" or even free nesting software I'd be glad to hear about it.

Vectric's V Carve Pro does nesting.
It looks like SheetCAM does too.
