    Need Help Importing into LASERWORKS

Hi everyone. Recently purchased a new laser that uses Laserworks. My issue is that when importing .ai files, all is well except any lines drawn (please see attached pictures). I am saving it as a CS8 file and strokeof is not being carried over. Letters are not issue once created into outlines. I can't even find a way to adjust the stroke within Laserworks. Have tried a number of different files to include .dxf , bmp etc.

If someone could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    Hi,

Are you trying to cut or engrave?? Makes a big difference on the layout.

I had much trouble importing into Laserwork for a simple plate with slots that I am trying to hold +- .003" on slot width.

I ended up using Open Office draw for the outlay and making my page size the same as my plate and saving as a TIFF file which imports into Laserwork as an image.

I am thinking of doing without the engraving feature and converting over to DSP control of the laser.

Included is a save from Gibbs-cam.

    Paul,

    Paul, thanks for the reply.

I am referring to engraving only. No issues whatsoever on the cutting side of things. Tried .tiff along with other image file but when imported into LW it looses quality ... even though saved in highest quality possible.

    NGdriver:

A few questions to help troubleshoot:
    1. Is the layer that the artwork is on (in Laserworks) set to Mode=Scan (not Cut)?
    2. When you go to Simulate (the computer monitor icon in the Laserworks toolbar) are the graphics shown as lines or as filled (in light green on my computer) areas? If they are filled, then they should engrave properly. If they are lines, the laser will only cut the outlines
