    MIC-6 jig plate allowable loads?

Where can one find formulas to calculate aluminium plate tensile strength/allowable loads? Have plate thickness, span and ksi value- need lb per inch square or something similar..

    Thanks

Is the plate supported or fixed, is it supported on two or all for sides (assuming square/rectangular)? Is it constant xsection, is the load point, or spread and finally what is the KSI value? is it youngs modulus for the material, its ultimate tensile strength, yield strength or whatever?

Normally a google on beam deflection plate deflection etc will help if you've pinned down the variables.

Yes, I was looking at ALRO site, typical tensile 24 ksi, yield 15 ksi. The plate would be supported on two sides only, rectangular 1x8 in shape. Load from moving Z axis.

Beam deflection- that`s what I was looking for  Google did the trick.
    Thanks

OK - try this attachment, you don't need the KSI strengths just the Modulus of Elasticity..

This plate is cast, isn't it?

    Thanks fyffe555.

mxtras- yes, it`s mic6 cast aluminium, stress relieved, surface ground, also known as jig plate.
