PROCESS TECHNICIAN / PROGRAMER - east Texas
POSITION SUMMARY: Reviews blueprints and engineering specifications to determine correct machining processes, resolves discrepancies with manufacturing, sales, quality and customers and assists in developing solutions to improve manufacturing methods.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Utilize current routing software to develop processes and planning part processes. Work closely with scheduling department with issues and needs for planning. Develop and design work holding and select cutting tools.
• Create and compile necessary documents to aid setting up machines. Utilize computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and related computer technology to develop programs and tool path models.
• Write and optimize CNC programs to create complex parts on 2 and up to 5 axis machines. Streamline CNC programs to obtain lowest total costs possible. Organize and maintain DNC system to current processes including setup information to define tooling selection in tool room and decrease setup times at machines.
• Coordinate editing and troubleshooting of CNC programs/machine setups and tooling, including tool purchasing and gauge orders. Plan and track project timelines.
• Effectively communicate and report machine performance and areas for improvement in the machining process. Test new machine technologies in an effort to reduce part cycle times. Continually searching for ways to improve existing processes.
• Perform all other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Associated Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineer or equivalent experience and/or training. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with MRP/ ERP systems, manufacturing process/practices and MS Office applications.
• Requires thorough understanding of machining principles.
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of manufacturing facility, read and understand work orders, blue prints, CNC programs and processes, use developed math, reading and writing skills within the scope of the job assignment.
• Ability to lead teams in development of new product processes.
Requires solid working knowledge of cutting tools, Mastercam version X3 or later, and Solidworks. Ability to effectively build routers and plan machine procedures.
• Must demonstrate a willingness to adjust priorities to accommodate changing requirements.
• Requires strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
