    Machine Zero Problem?

After clearing out everything and reloading the NC parameters and what I can find of the PMC parameters. I have tried setting the offsets with a master tool but the machine will not go where it needs to. I use tool 2 ( roughing ) as the master tool and using the Work Shift offset for it. Then using tool geometry for the feed out, the machine goes somewhere completely different.

Reason for clearing machine was a Ram Parity Error on NC side. Have had same error in FAPT for awhile but overlooked it because it would run in NC side. Stopped using FAPT many years ago.

Machine is a Victor TNS-3 with Fanuc 10TF.

Thankful for any help with this.

Went to IPL mode, was no options. Only....
    1ump Memory
    2:
    3:Clear File
    4:settings
    5:
    6:End IPL

Went to end IPL and Check System Label:Error comes up. So can not exit IPL Mode now

Went to Settings and only option was for, Check soft OT at power on.

    To do a memory clear......
power on with "7" and "9" depressed
IPL screen will appear press "99" "Input"
at the clear question press "Y" then it will ask you the number of axes.
normally 2 for a lathe and 3 for a mill.
next it will ask you option #1?
you MUST enter the options in hexadecimal format (Parameters 9100 up)
May be 32 options, or more,
It will ask to clear data or memory hit "Y"
Then select option "6" to exit IPL

It appears that this was not done.

We had already done a memory clear which led me to my first post. I will do this again and see where I stand afterwards.

Clear memory is done again and now I have a Hard overtravel in Z. No idea how to fix that.

That could be a PMC parameter issue, or the number of axes (param 9000).
Check your options (param 9100 up). You could have the axis physically over travelling.

Power up to the IPL screen
    Select number 4 -settings
What your looking for is check switches limit switches at power on --select Y
this should allow you to home the machine now to the limit switches-rapid down and move home slowly

Hard Overtravel is fixed, toggle switch in one of the back cabinets did the trick. I touch off a tool and it will not go where it is suppose to go. Do I have some numbers off somewhere? Or is it something else? Parameter 1220 is set to what it was back in 1987, maybe it changed and we didn't record the changes. I use tool 2 as the master tool to touch off on work shift. Then other tools in geometry. It seems when I touch off Z in work shift it affects X axis.

if you do not do the reset to switches the machine will use the power up position as Ref and can move in either direction depending how the overtravel limits are set

There must be something else missing in the optional parameters you just loaded it should be exiting the IPL screen and coming up to power up
    Does 6 not work ?
Did the setting in 4 say check switches ?
Are you on hard overtravel switches on the machine already ?

I press 6 and Input and it comes up with Check System Label:Error
4 did as you said and I pressed Y
No the hard switches have not been tripped

4 should have taken you to another screen "Setting Screen "
Just reload the stuff the way you did before and you should come back to were you were
if not there is something else wrong with the control

It didn't, pressed Y to check for soft O/T and it stayed on IPL screen.

So your saying I have to once again clear the memory and reload the NC parameters? Ok but this will be the third time and nothing has changed.

This model Fanuc can be very frustrating
The probelm with them so call optional parameters is that they are actually basic machine defintions --like how many axes and spindles and thats why them first few in this model typed in by hand are really important

    Machine builder have any ?
