Does anyone know if LazyCAM will recognize spline entities as generated by AutoCAD? I can import the image and it will actually select the spline as a chain, but I can not pocket up to it.
Please advise.

Save the output from Acad as a R-12 DXF and see what happens.

Consistency is a good thing....unless you're consistently an idiot.
No change...I read on the Mach site that splines are a problem for LCAM for now. I use them alot for doing manual bitmap traces, etc. Is there a better software for doing these types of raster to vector conversions without breaking the bank?
Splines are trouble for most affordable CAM packages. If you save your DXF as an R-12 DXF, it will convert your splines to simple polylines and any CAM package will then process them without a hitch.
Give it a try.

...still no luck.
Can you post the offensive file?

This is not the original, but this is significantly more simple than the original and I still can't seem to get it to work as an R12 .dxf. I am just trying to pocket out inside the ellipse and island the irregular shape(s) on the inside.
LazyCAM is probably having trouble due to all the very small segments. Probably not much you can do.
