Does anyone have an easy way to import a jpeg into Gibbs and create toolpath?

Last I heard Gibbs didn't do that. There are other softwares that will. Search for Raster to Vector Converter. If it's fairly simple, you could try WinTopo Freeware, or look at Adobe and some others.

There are a few things that you can do, but none are to read in the image file into GibbsCAM. It would be very nice though.

I have several customers using a program called scan2cad. This seems to work very well. It is designed specificly for manufacturing and design. You can convert images and scaned drawings to DXF files.

There are a few different options but they start at (or are around) $275 - $300 range.

As for WinTopo, I tried it and did not have the best of luck, even though it did work.

I use CorelTrace10, its a very fast effective way to import images, the only thing is the image has to be clean. Each pixel of the image will be a point so a thin outline works best of the image works best

If I'm not mistaken, Corel Draw will export a DXF file, and someone on here posted that you could get it on eBay for $60-$70. I hope that's legit...I may get it.

yes it will export to a dxf, im not sure how much the program costs, it was provided with my job =p
