isolated tool plate shorts out with coolant...

    Greetings all,

I am setting up my X2 with a tooling plate to use with Hoss's tool touch probe. I have isolated a 4x4" steel plate on plastic strips and wrapped t-nuts in plastic too. it works well, but when coolant floods the table and t-nuts, my tooling plate is no longer isolated.
I was thinking of adding a resistor inline with the touch probe signal wire, but not sure if this is the right approach. I am running Mach3 with a G540. I have the machine grounded and the tooling plate is the signal.

    Any thought appreciated!

if it were me, I would take a peice of thick plastic. T nuts and hold downs go thru the plastic. Tooling plate bolts to the plastic. No metal at all going from the tooling plate to the table. Everything is isolated using the plastic. Plastic bolts to table. Plate bolts to plastic (not with the same bolts)

That's a good idea, but I'd be worried about the plastic cracking after long exposure to load and vibration. But perhaps some phenolic block or plate would work...
    Thanks for your input!
