Yes, If you are running the C7 ballscrews the pitch is 5.08 so 8128 in steps/per in motor tuning.

I have the mill nearly back together. With the C7 nuts having a lube port in the flange it makes adding the ballscrews to the oiling system easy.
The port is M6x1 and for my system using 1/8 ID tubing the use of barbed fittings makes it nice.
The Y axis uses a straight barb, Mcmaster #5058K325, with the nut rotated 22.5 degrees from normal allows it to come straight out of the top.
The X axis uses a 90 degree barb, Mcmaster #5047K142, though it's threads are 1/4-28 they are close enough to m6x1 that it screws into the port without too much persuasion, being acetal helps.
A 3/8 inch slot machined into the saddle provides clearance for the fitting.
The barb holds very well, I had to cut the tubing so I could pull it apart the first time I tried it.
If you heat up the tubing you can bend it at an angle and it will hold that shape when cool.

On a similar note my old oil pump gave up the ghost so I ordered a more typical hand pump type this time.
I like this one because of the price, it's located in the US, has a 1 liter capacity ( bigger than most) and maxes at 70 psi.

Speaking of tooling... I'm thinking that since I eventually want to go to the power drawbar that instead of investing in a lot of R8 tool holders, I should probably invest in the Tormach TTS-R8 adapter collet and buy all the other tooling with the 3/4 inch straight shank. (Is there a name for that?) I haven't even put the R8 shank in the drill chuck yet as I was thinking of getting a 3/4 shank for it if that's practical.

I have not looked but the two stubs on the side seems to be the housing for carbon brushes, which will wear out, If so has anyone looked at them and see if you could find a source for replacements, with the continuous use we would put them to they will wear out allot quicker than in a tread mill.

I haven't looked yet but mcmaster has brushes in many sizes including ones that fit the nordic track treadmill motors, bet there will be a size to fit, I'll look.

Mcmaster.com #65705K24 is for a pair of brushes that look like they'd fit if the spring is cut shorter but @$18.19 you could almost buy another motor/controller.
Especially since as pat commented on my video, use BIG40 as the coupon code and you get the motor/controller for $22.

How is the double ball-nut testing? I'm curious if you have loss of travel as a result, or if you're still ahead of the game with some of the mods you've done (Y extension, flipped Z column). I have been frustrated with lack of stock Y travel lately. I'm interested in doing the extension along with putting the Y ballnut through the back of the column for a rear stepper mount. I assume this also requires a longer Y ballscrew?

There are several links on my main page under accessories, 4 inch vises are good for the stock mill, 5 for the extended travel version.
Can't go wrong with the Glacern but the cheap ones will do the job though might be off a thou or two.

No loss with the X travel, the Y depends.
For the stock mill you should still get the stock 7 in. travel as there is room for the double ballnut to fit.
With the extra travel mods I did to the base before I'm getting 8 in. vs 9 in. with the shorter nuts.
The longer ballnut hits the casting in the same place it would with the stock travel so the casting removed from the top of the base slot in the mod makes no difference.
You could get more Y travel by milling out more of the casting to allow the nut to come farther forward but that's too much for me to get into now.
That would also require an inch or so longer ballscrew for the rear y mount.
My rapid speed is only a little slower than what I was getting before (275 vs 330) but checking backlash will have to wait till I make the new mounts, what I'm using now is a mix of printed parts so I still get .001 on the X and .003 on the Y, all metal parts and new bearings should help but at least it's running again.

You don't have to wait for the power drawbar to take advantage of the TTS for quick changes, I came up with a simple setup that lets you use it manually quickly.
Projects
You can use them of course traditionally and manually tighten/loosen the drawbar for greater retention.
