I tested the part modeler demo by EdgeCam.... it stinks... lol
I`m now using Solide Edge (unigraphics solutions Inc) an it is very easy to use.. making 3D solids fast and easy... and you can convert an 3D solid in to an 2D draft as vel...

And Solide Edge works good with Edgecam

    Part Modeler

Part modeler isn't suppose to compete with Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge etc., it's made for simple models for machining and fixturing. However, inside of part modeler under Help there is a tutorial.
Contact your reseller about some training to help you decide on an upgrade, your reseller should be able to get your a 30 day license as well.
