Noobie question
I'm trying to create a .086 width groove with a .038 radius and a .010 flat in the middle but can't seem to achieve it with a .062 full radius tool on OSP-U10L Okuma. Any ideas on how I can achieve this?
Thank you.

I assume you mean programming it using IGF? Or do you mean program it with G-Code?
Are you getting an error code or message or the machine just won't do it with no messages?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes it's on One Touch IGF and the error code it 2063 nose-r comp. Straight line to arch 1.
normally what I do to get around that problem is define the tool as the same width but with a smaller radius. so define tool as 0.062" wide with 0.030" radius. it will have a 0.002" flat in the middle.
try that and let us know if it works for you.
I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks a lot fordav11.
It worked out! Just has to tweak the radius a little but it put me in the right direction.
Thanks so much fordav11.
