i need a little help on the table we have, as stated in some other post that we were left holding the bad on finishing this massive machine and this week were just about finished.

Some background the trasformer used is less then a foot of cable so as per the drives directions no in line cap was needed but we had some anyway (just in case) we had the 62k resister installed.

We tested one with and without the caps installed (just to be safe) turned on the machine things looked good the the drive with the cap blow (the cap blow)
we chalked it up to (we didnt need the caps). well everything looked liked it was going good all directions of the gantry moved and we set to calibrate it with in mach3 - All went well.

Then it happened one of the drives just burn up conpletely (i mean the whole inside of the drive burn up).

as we looked back at the motors (it was stated that we should use the 62k) but with the drives being connected in series the math was wrong (or so we think) 62k will support 4a but what if the math comes out to like 4.8a should we not use the 120k resister for 5a?

we also ordered a new drive to replace this one but have decided to go with the g203 version more safe guards then the g201.

any thoughts?
