    Unhappy Gecko 201 and Steppers

    Iam a new guy on the block I built a controller using a campbell design breakout board, 3 Gecko 201,8 lead stepper motors input voltage is 36 volts,I thought when you turn the power on to the controller the steppers lock up,mine do not there is a very small amount of lock up I still can turn the shaft by hand I tried everything I know is there someone who can lead me in the correct direction.

    It sounds like you forgot to solder in the pull-up resistors ("current-set resistor") across terminals 11 and 12 of the Gecko connectors. What is the per-phase amperage of your steppers? The resistor to use will be that number is set by the equation R (in kilo-Ohms)= 47*I / (7 - I). It's all in the Gecko manual that you can download from their website, on page 3. http://www.geckodrive.com/downloads.aspx

    I think you miss wired the stepper motor. What make and model number is it?
