    GE Fanuc drive wiring info

Where can we find or buy GE Fanuc servo drive wiring charts for the GE models that begin with A06B-xxxx-xxxx. We have a customer that needs a quote. I will get pictures when I travel over there if it will help.

    A06B books

    Bob,
There are so many A06B models that you really need to get all of the numbers. Fanuc connection manuals are plentiful if you have the numbers.

    Warren,

    I have 4 more numbers + 1 letter. A06B-6047-Hxxx maybe it's a 3 at the end.

We are using CamSoft PC based controllers if that matters.

    Thanks Bob

Probably older DC motors and drives, you could have resolvers instead of encoders on this system.
Although you may be able to integrate these with a Galil control, by the time you add encoders if you have to, the customer still has the old DC servos and drives.
I know if maintained right, they do sterling service, but taking the time to integrate them etc, fitting later type AC servo's may be a better option.
I have been faced with this dilemma a few times, and if the present drives and motors can be re-used in a practical sense then it may pay to use Camsoft, otherwise I usually recommend that a whole new system such as Mitsubishi is more of a viable option.
Usually cheaper in the long run due to less time involved in the retro-fit.

    A06B-6047-H003 connections

    Bob,
These drives are very common and I'll look for some prints Monday at the office. The interface to enable them is pretty straightforward.

One complication we've had in the past is that most (not all) of the Yellow Cap M Series motors that the Japanese OEM's used only have encoders (either 2000,2500, or 3000 line) and these drives need velocity (tach) feedback. Fanuc solved it by bring a synthesized velocity signal over from the mother board on the Fanuc 6 and 11's. You might need to find a way to deal with that on the Camsoft.

Al observed that some M series motors have resolvers. All of the ones with resolvers have a tach, but, of course, then you need a resolver to encoder converter.
