    First cuts on my NM-135

Here is some video of the first cuts in 6061 aluminum on my NM-135.

I am going to be changing the 3/4" loc-line coolant hose to 1/2" with a different nozzle to get better chip clearing.

Looks good. You should only need to change the tip, not the whole line.

    Love the enclosure!

Can I ask a question? What speed/feed/depth/toolsize where you using?

    Hi Keith,

As it was my first test I was fairly conservative.

    6000RPM/17ipm/0.04" doc/0.25 3 flute carbide end mill.

Subsequent to that video I have also cut some 3/8" 6061, same RPM and DOC but at 36ipm. The mill had no problem cutting it, but the cut quality was down. I had to run it with only coolant from a spray bottle as I have a leak in the coolant tray that I have to fix, so that probably did not help with cut quality.

My next test with coolant I will probable back the feed down to the low 20's but double the doc.

Unfortunately I do as the loc-line is a copy and non-standard size being smaller than 1/2 and bigger than 1/4"

    It's probably metric.

Quite possibly, but Loc-line do not sell metric.
