With Mach 3, and using a relay to control a spindle motor having its own power supply;
a; does the relay turn the power supply on?
[Yes, if you have it hooked up correctly; otherwise it wouldn't spin.]
b; should said power supply have its own on and off power toggle switch?
[It could, but the switch would have to be on before the relay would activate the spindle.]
c; do all connections i.e. spindle, steppers and e-stop be connected before running a basic power on test?
[The steppers would have to be connected, and the e-stop would have to be in the on position. But the spindle is another issue.]
Or have I killed my control box ? I did not have anything connected and turned on the power. The relay board L.E.D. indicator went on and suddenly off with a snapping sound.
Opinions did I kill it before it had life???
