    DIY Laser Engraver/Cutter question

    I was looking at Laser Diode Module on Ebay and was wondering what everyone here thinks,I like that it has a focus lens. I have looked a a few DIY laser cutters on the web but I cant tell if they have a focus lens - most are parted out CD Rom burners. I would like to have a watt or 2 output - not sure why but think that I would have more options on burning stuff. any input would be great
