CNC Drill driving the milling table

Hey all, I'm building a cnc drill/mill. I recently purchased a 3 axis kit from hobby cnc with 200oz/in steppers. I also managed to get a brand new milling table from ebay for £35 (£55 postage lol) which wasnt bad at all and i managed to get a nice sturdy pillar drill from argos for £35. Anyway the reason im posting is because i just took the handles off the milling table and the studding comes out about 3 inchs. I was planning on using couplings but im not sure now how im going to mount the motors on the milling table seeing as i have limited resources and limited cash. Any ideas?

Btw im going to post pics as soon as i get my camera working again.

With out a picture it is difficult to say but can you make an omega clamp. Maybe use the mill to fabricate and drill it?
