    Brake rebuild

    Hi All,
I have a Bridgeport Interact II with Heidenhain TNC145 control (thanks for all the input on that by the way) and the brake doesn't work. I've rebuilt the brake on my Enco which has the variable speed drive and the manual for my BPT looks similar. Any advice or tips before I start this repair?
    Thanks in advance.
    Tim

It is a series 1? That is, no DC drive, but vari-drive?

If so it is straightforward. The parts inside are all identical to a manual J2 head, you can use that exploded diagram available on the web at places like www.mataco.com. Difference being the housings themselves look different, and the fact that the motor is mounted upside-down.

    Brake

Our machine is a series II with the vari-drive. I've been printing out info on it before I start digging into it.

Sorry, should have asked Mk 1? I think the Series II is the same as the Series 1 once you get above the column. And the same as a 2J except for the upside down motor and different housings.
