I purchased 2 8020 bearings. They are very smooth when I do not attach anything to them. The attached picture shows the bearings and what I am trying to do. I attached a piece of wood where my Z-axis will mount to and then it hardly slides at all.

How does everyone get these things to slide easy when they are attaching their parts to them?

Hope I explained this well enough. I really want to use them and try something different. I have trollies with bearings but really want to get these to work and try them out for a while.

There's a reason you don't see anyone using those. To get them to work, you'll need to add two more, and locate them at least twice as far away from the two you have are apart. Otherwise they'll just keep binding.

You need to make sure you upper and lower (Y axis I believe) is parrel. If the upper side is set back just alittle further than you lower side, when you tighten up the bolts you will be canting the bearing and cause binding.

You should also make sure your bearings are flat too. What I mean is that the side that you are attaching to the wood is flat. If it is cupped when you go to tighten the bolts it will pull the bearing in tighter and cause a simular effect. Hope this helps

I tried the same road you are taking, I could not make them work unless they had a lot of play(slop) in them. I wish you luck, I ended up going with VXB linear bearings, much better! but still not as good as thk and those type but the price was right.

I have trollies and bearings. Just wanted to see if I could use the 8020 for this. Going back to my trollies and bearings. Thanks again for the input.
