    2 inch rough end mill

I'm going to be roughing out A2 on a 20 hp Haas Vertical Mill using a 2inch course roughing endmill. Could someone help me out with some cutting calculations.

Need more data to make a firm recommendation. Or, you can get a 30 day trial of G-Wizard and calculate a bunch of scenarios:

The new materials database includes A2 with several conditions.

    Cheers,

Man, get rid of that rough endmill. Get a carbide 1" four flute and go to town at 200 SFM. A2 machines good.

+1. I can't see the sense of using HSS roughing mills in today's commercial shops.

What type of operation are you doing anyhow? I have an unused 1-1/2" 3-effective flute 12-insert end mill I can sell you for less than a good HSS roughing mill.
