I cannot find G04, dwell, in any of my manuals. The G code list says you can program G04 with a X, F, or S, but does not tell me if a decimal point is need or if the time is in seconds or Milliseconds. I am familiar with G04 in a Fanuc, (X or P).

Can anyone clear this up? Can anyone tell me if this does appear in any Siemens manual and which one?

If all else fails I'll just do trail and error, until it works.

I run a siemens 840d don't know if it will be the same but if you program G4 S5 the machine will dwell for 5 revolutions of the spindle or if you program G4 F5 it will dwell for 5 seconds. Hope this helps.
